A Writer’s Life: Examining the Past, Considering the Future
Describing himself as a ‘writer of one sort or another for the last 60-odd years’ Keith Dewhurst shares his thoughts about his chances, experiences, and follies. Dewhurst recognises the amazing luck of his generation to find itself in the greatest decades for English drama since the Elizabethan/Jacobean period.
Dewhurst explains, “We try to write better and the world changes around us. New writers face new difficulties. And in my old age I have written and self-published, but not really attempted to promote, novellas: a private act, almost, when my last public one is to write for the Manchester United fanzine. What goes around comes around! What do you surmise? Should we have a natter about it?”
