Brian Marriott

I graduated from Portsmouth Art College in 1970 and then started a graphic design practice on the Isle of Wight. After 40 successful years as ‘Marriott Design’ one of the South’s leading design studios, I decided to turn a new chapter in my creative life to concentrate on being an equally successful artist/designer. I have reinvented myself, combining a professional life in design, a love of painting and glass with an instinctive desire for creativity.

GlassArt. I create abstract sculpted fused glass pictures that emulate impasto oil painting. Exclusively working with recycled waste decorative glass fragments, combined with my newly formed glass, I make a vibrant fusion of colours that form my unique handmade pictures. Inspiration comes from the landscapes and coastline of the Isle of Wight, sailing, abstract forms or the individual challenge for specific commissions.

Commissions. If you are looking for a original piece of art to present to a special person in your life or as a corporate gift, I can assure you I will design and create a unique GlassArt picture that will be cherished and valued.

Mixed Media Prints. Extending my GlassArt imagery I have also reproduced high definition images of cropped areas from original GlassArt pieces as large format limited edition ciglee framed prints. To enhance the nature of the subject I add mixed media surface treatments like epoxy resin.
