Sunday 10th March is Mother’s Day and what better way to spend some time with Mum than sharing a delicious afternoon tea and enjoying a nostalgic look back at some local history as you do.

With the 80th Anniversary of the D-Day landings approaching, at this years Mothers Day Tea’s and Talk event we turn the clock backs to Cowes in World War II and see how Northwood House played a crucial role in the local war effort. These events are always very popular, so book soon to avoid disappointment!

Join us at either 1.00pm or 3.15pm for one of the sittings which will include a full vintage afternoon tea and a welcome flute of prosecco (or alcohol free sparkling fizz alternative). The menu will be perfect for lunch or a mid-afternoon treat.

Northwood House Historian and Trustee Tim Wander will give the history talk across each sitting time while you’re indulging in your cakes, scones and sandwiches.

The vintage afternoon tea menu contains a selection of savoury finger sandwiches and bridge rolls, followed by a moreish selection of cakes, fresh baked home-made scones (with clotted cream and strawberry jam) all washed down with a pot of tea, coffee or soft drinks (please state your choice when booking below).

Please state any dietary requirements and allergens on the ticket booking section which will be catered for on the day with alternative items on the table service menu. This must be stated in advance as extra dietary requirements cannot be serviced on the day without prior notice, sorry.

The House bar will be open during the afternoon for additional purchases of alcoholic or soft drinks.

Of course, the event is open to anyone with or without Mums in tow, including individuals. However it might not be suitable or interesting for children and hence we advise that children under 13 choose another way to celebrate with Mum on this special day.

Tickets: £19.50 pp (Members £17.50pp)
