In order to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee this weekend, there will be something extra for you, with support from Gurnard Village Hall Association (GVHA)
Prior to “The Dig” there will be a “Champagne” Reception in the Village Hall garden.
This is an opportunity to meet with other members of the audience and enjoy a complimentary glass of bubbly (or soft drink) and light finger food. You may wish to bring along your own more substantial picnic. The “Champagne” Reception is from 6.35 until the start of ‘THE DIG’ at 7.30 pm.
In addition, to start with, they will be screening the 1953 documentary of the Queen’s Coronation, “A Queen is Crowned” in full technicolor. It lasts for 1 hour 20 minutes and starts at 5.15 pm (doors open 5.00).

We hope that you will come along to join us for an enjoyable gathering for film, fizz and food!
Also it has been suggested that we dress to match the times, or any decade since the 50s, or in Red White and Blue. If you’re up for it, go for it!
“champagne” = top quality atmosphere with good quality sparkling wine
Booking in advance enables the adjustment of the seating accordingly for space and best sight lines to the screen. When booking, please tell them if your booking is for one or both films, so that they have numbers for catering and seating.
However you are welcome even without a booking as the capacity of the hall is greater than their average sized audience.
They still take cash and you are encouraged to use hand sanitiser after paying. They offer a complimentary paper cup of wine or a soft drink. Their full range of refreshments is not yet available but you are welcome to bring your own (quiet!) refreshments. The wearing of face coverings is now a matter of choice.
Please let them know of your needs when you book so they can arrange more distanced seating for you. The hall continues to be heated and well ventilated.
