Beatrix Potter
Cert PG 1hr 30 mins
UK 2006
Director: Chris Noonan
The film is based on the real life story of the relationship between Beatrix Potter and her new publisher Norman Warne who compiled and published her stories in the book “The Tale of Peter Rabbit”, which led to her widespread recognition and success as writer of the best-selling children’s books of all time.
This charming film celebrates Beatrix Potter’s love of the countryside and wildlife as well as her talents as illustrator and story teller, who against the expectations of the time (1903), became a financially independent woman and successful writer/illustrator. Rennee Zellweger as Beatrix and Ewan McGregor as Norman lead a talented cast, directed by Chris Noonan. The film also contains some animated sequences featuring characters from her stories.
