Birgit Ackroyd

I am Swedish, but have lived in the UK for many years, mainly on the Isle of Wight, and currently in Cowes overlooking the sea. I have no formal art education, but have always had a keen interest in drawing/painting. I even found my life drawings dated 1959/60 recently!! I love going on art holidays all over the world, and often take my bike. I have participated in many local exhibitions, including Open Studio, inviting people into my studio in the garden here on the Island. I have exhibited in London, and my home town in Sweden. I belong to the IW Art Club and Cowes Art Club, as well as Helsingborgs Konst Förening in Sweden. I often pack my watercolours on my bike and go and sit somewhere on this beautiful island and paint. I always carry a sketchbook with me.
