1935 Crime Thriller UK
In Black and White
Celebrating our 10th anniversary, Director Alfred Hitchcock’s brilliant original version of Buchan’s novel still soars above some very respectable remakes. Humour, charm and suspense in equal measure – and perfectly paced.
Film starts at 8.000pm. Doors are open from 7pm. (Please note the later start time for our 10th anniversary celebrations – to give you time to enjoy your Pimm’s and strawberry scones).
Admission: £5.00
Booking in advance is preferred but not necessary (50 maximum – 25 already taken) – either call 01983 240615 or text 07801 532482.
Booking in advance enables the adjustment of the seating accordingly for space and best sight lines to the screen. However you are welcome even without a booking as the capacity of the hall is greater than their average sized audience.
GFS posters from the past 10 years will also be on display for you to see what you have enjoyed, endured or missed over the years. Most of the DVDs will be available if you wish to borrow one to enjoy again. You can try out our (optional) quiz, which is less about testing your knowledge than about finding answers to clues in some programme texts. There will be a magnificent prize both for the winner of the quiz part one and for the winner of part two for the super-keen.
