There’s nowhere better than Cowes for sailing and water activities, it’s the home of Cowes Week, the oldest and biggest sailing regatta in the world.
The Island Sailing Club sits in the heart of Cowes and is the organiser of the annual Round the Island Race, sailing’s answer to the London Marathon as over 1000 boats, crewed by some of the biggest names in sailing as well as keen amateur sailors and families race around the Isle of Wight.
If you want to be at the heart of sailing – both on and off the water – then The Island Sailing Club is the Club for you. Pop in when you’re next in Cowes, they welcome visiting yachtsmen.
The Island Sailing Club’s main bar and dining room overlooks the Cowes Fairway with views from the New Forest eastwards to Portsmouth. The dining room is open daily and serves everything from a bite-on-the-go, through to a formal celebratory meal.
The clubhouse bar serves a range of beers, cocktails, wines, spirits including their gin of the month and the club’s favourite, Mermaid Isle of Wight Gin. There is also a wide range of soft drinks, teas and coffees.
Throughout the year they run a series of lunches, evening talks, events and social gatherings. The clubs rooms on the top floor or in the waterside marquee, are also available for hire for functions.
The Island Sailing Club also has accommodation available, you’d need to contact them direct for further information.
